Culture stone application on insulated façade system

Rising fuel prices make application of exterior heat insulation on the façade of a newly-constructed building, as well as during a re-construction of an old one, a necessity. Both residential housing and commercial building require modern materials to be applied in order to increase heat efficiency inside the building, reduce the level of noise and make the stay inside your house or your company office more enjoyable at any time of the year. However heat insulation needs to be covered with a decorative material afterwards – whether it is façade rendering, face brick or any other.

MAGICRETE s.r.o. brings you an approved system for application of cultured stone on heat insulating materials. This technology has proved it’s effectiveness for many years and is applied nationwide – whether it is a townhouse inside the city limit or a mountain hotel at an alpine resort. This technology enables the application of MAGICRETE stone veneer on any type of insulating material – polystyrene, mineral wool, etc.

Here are some basic steps for the application:

  1. Polystyrene (or another type of insulating material) is fitted onto the building exterior (masonry) with the use of flexible, frost-proof adhesive.
  2. A CETRIS board (cement-chipboard) is fitted onto the insulation layer and is fixed in place using wall-plugs. The wall-plug has to go all the way through the insulation layer and be fixed inside the masonry. Amount of wall-plugs per square meter depends on the height above the ground level, at which cultured stone will be later applied.
  3. After board installation is complete, the surface is covered with SOKRAT (Styrene-acryl copolymer compound) to increase the adhesive properties of the board. Now the exterior is prepared for application of manufactured stone.
  4. Adhesive is applied both on the board and on the backside of the tile. We recommend using frost-proof and flexible adhesives for exteriors.
  5. After sufficient amount of adhesive was applied to both surfaces (the wall and the tile), the tile is firmly pressed to the board.

Method, which is described above, will enable the application of even the heavy weight artificial stone panels onto heat insulation without the risk of disintegration.
